What can you top a pizza with?
For your regular pizza (can’t believe I’m saying regular with pizza), you could use some form of sauce (pizza, marinara, alfredo), cheese, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, ranch dressing, avocado and the list goes on. For a taco pizza, you could add the taco meat, refried beans, cheddar/jack cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, guacamole.
What is the best cheese for pizza?
Really depends on the pizza. The number one cheese used is mozzarella. But, you could use cheddar, havarti, provolone, and goat cheese are the most popular.
Should you cook pizza on a baking tray?
If your dough is raw, you should put in on a tray of some sort. If your pizza is frozen, you can put it directly on the oven rack. And, if you’re really cool, you could cook it on a stone.
Taco Pizza not your thing? Try one of these..

Taco Pizza
Equipment
- 9 x 13 Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 2 Lbs Ground Hamburger Meat
- 1/4 Cup Dried Chopped Onion
- 2 1.12 oz Pkg Taco Seasoning, Cheesy
- 1 1/2 Cup Milk
- 3 Cups Cheddar Cheese, Shredded
- 13.8 Oz Tube Refrigerated Pizza Dough or your own homemade, can be gluten free
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown hamburger meat with dried chopped onions. Drain.
- In same skillet, add taco seasoning and milk, mix well. Add drained hamburger meat back in. Bring to boil, then simmer for 5-7 minutes. NOTE: you don’t want the taco meat runny. I took this picture before it was done.
- Preheat oven to 450°.
- Spray your pan of choice with cooking spray. I chose a 9×13 cookie sheet for a rectangle pizza. Spread out dough on the pan.
- Spoon meat on to the dough and spread out evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- Bake at 450° for 18-25 minutes depending on your oven. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. SERVE!
