St Patricks Candy Dipped Oreos

Another holiday gives me yet another reason to bake goodies, just like St Patricks Day Dipped Oreos. Having Irish in me and all, I like St. Patrick’s Day. But not just because I’m Irish. It’s one of those holidays that has no “present buying” attached to it. We can just celebrate.
These cookies are very similar to the Candy Dipped Cookies I made for my daughter’s gender reveal party. With this one I used full size cookies and I melted the candy melts on the stove vs. the microwave. But it’s the same concept.

I used two colors here. Green and Vibrant Green. You could use just one if you want. And I also used my handy dandy dipper spoon thingy I bought at the store.

I was using regular spoons, but with this, it allows me to drain off the excess candy and not waste so much. It also comes in handy as a “drizzler”. Just dip it in the melted candy and let drain a bit and then kinda shake over your cookies.

Before we get to the recipe I wanted to let you know that my recipe has 28 cookies in all. If you don’t steal any of the Oreos before dipping them (ahem, like me), you will end up with 30 cookies. Don’t judge me.

St Patricks Candy Dipped Oreos
Equipment
- Double Boiler (can use glass bowl over saucepan or microwave)
- 9 x 13 Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 1 Pkg (15.25 oz) Mint Oreos Can use Original Oreos
- 1 Bag (12 oz) Wilton Candy Melts, Green
- 1/2 Bag (22 oz) Wilton Candy Melts, Vibrant Green Can use another 1/2 bag of Green
Instructions
- In double boiler, pour in whole bag of the candy melts. On low heat slowly melt the candy melts.
- Place wax paper on a cookie sheet or something similar.
- Once candy melts are melted, dip cookie in (using dipper). Flip and cover other half. Then place on wax paper. You can dip half, let set and then dip the other half. Just adjust your cook time. NOTE: I did 14 fully covered cookies and 6 half covered cookies. All drizzled on top.
- Let harden. **Refrigerating speeds up the process**
- Repeat dipping and setting with second color, if desired. NOTE: I only did 8 of the second color.
