Triple Chocolate Brownie Bites

An easy, crowd-friendly treat made with Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix
These Triple Chocolate Brownie Bites turn a boxed mix into a fun, shareable dessert. By adjusting the ingredients slightly and baking the batter in a mini muffin pan, you get rich brownie bites with chewy edges and fudgy centers. They are ideal for parties, bake sales, lunchboxes, and casual family treats—and they are much easier to serve than a full pan of brownies.
Why Make Brownie Bites?
Brownie bites are a smart choice whenever you want neat, individual portions without slicing a pan. Their small size gives every piece a little more edge while keeping the middle soft and chocolatey. They travel well in a sturdy container and can be dressed up for holidays, showers, birthdays, or game day.
Decorate them with sprinkles in seasonal colors, a drizzle of melted chocolate, or a light dusting of powdered sugar. For an extra-special version, sandwich a small swirl of frosting between two bites or pipe frosting onto the top. If you add frosting, transport the treats in a single layer so the decoration stays intact.
Timing and Ease
The batter takes only a few minutes to prepare, and portioning it into a mini muffin pan is quick. Because the portions are small, begin checking them earlier than you would a full pan of brownies. This is an easy shortcut dessert for busy days, unexpected company, or last-minute celebrations.
Fun Facts About Brownie Bites
- Mini muffin pans create more crisp edges than a traditional pan, so each brownie bite has a satisfying contrast between the outside and center.
- Small portions cool faster, which means you can decorate and serve them sooner.
- A boxed brownie mix is a convenient base for experimenting with flavors such as espresso, orange zest, peppermint, or peanut butter.
- Brownie bites are naturally portioned, making them easy to arrange on dessert boards and party trays.
I originally made these to keep at home for Fay, me, and any guests—ahem, grandchildren—who might stop by. That way, “G” always has a chocolate treat ready to share.

Tips and Tricks
- Prepare the pan: Grease each cup well or use mini liners so the brownie bites release cleanly.
- Mix gently: Stir just until the dry mix is incorporated. Overmixing can make the texture less tender.
- Portion evenly: Use a small cookie scoop or two spoons so the bites bake at the same rate. Leave room for the batter to rise.
- Watch the bake time: Mini brownies can go from fudgy to dry quickly. Check early and remove them when a tester has moist crumbs rather than wet batter.
- Cool before removing: Let the brownie bites rest briefly in the pan, then loosen the edges and move them to a rack.
- Customize carefully: Fold in mini chocolate chips, finely chopped nuts, or small candy pieces, but avoid overloading the batter.
If you use Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix, prepare it according to the package guidance, then use these mini-pan tips and begin checking for doneness early. Package sizes and instructions can vary, so the box remains the best guide for ingredient amounts and oven temperature.

Serving Suggestions
Serve the brownie bites at room temperature for the best balance of fudgy center and chewy edge. Arrange them on a platter with strawberries, raspberries, or orange slices for color. For a dessert bar, offer bowls of sprinkles, chopped nuts, mini candies, whipped cream, and sauces so guests can create their own toppings.
- Top each bite with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and warm chocolate sauce.
- Add them to a dessert board with cookies, fruit, marshmallows, and chocolate-covered pretzels.
- Place individual brownie bites in mini paper cups for showers, birthdays, or holiday buffets.
- Pack a few in treat bags or small boxes for simple homemade gifts.
- Crumble leftovers over ice cream, yogurt, or a chocolate parfait.

Storage Tips
Let the brownie bites cool completely before storing them; trapped steam can make the tops sticky. Keep unfrosted bites in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days. Place parchment or wax paper between layers to prevent sticking.
For longer storage, refrigerate them in a tightly sealed container, although chilling can make brownies firmer. Bring them to room temperature before serving, or warm one briefly for a softer texture. Brownie bites can also be frozen: arrange the cooled bites in a single layer until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe container with parchment between layers. Thaw them while covered so condensation forms on the container rather than the brownies.
If you use dairy-based frosting or another perishable topping, follow the topping’s refrigeration guidance. Add powdered sugar, delicate drizzle, or crunchy decorations shortly before serving for the freshest appearance.
