Cookie Dough Oreo Pie

I could have made the name of this pie much longer if I included all the goodies in it.  But we’ll stick to Cookie Dough Oreo Pie.  How did this pie come about you ask?  I found it online. Originally, it was called Chubby Hubby Cookie Pie created by Cookin Cowgirl.

This sucker looked ah-mazing (in my sing song voice).  So, I had to give it a go!  Not disappointed at all.  I changed up her ingredients just a tad, but all in all it’s the same theory.  I think however, next time, and there will be a next time, I make this, I might alternate the caramel for just caramel sauce.  Once it sets, it gets pretty hard and doesn’t make it easy to cut, or to take a bite out of with your fork.

If I keep the melted caramel next time, I may just layer it on the bottom. Not sure how that would go, but might try it to see.  I really like the combo of flavors. And the only thing I changed was the topping topping. The chocolate drizzle was replaced with a butterscotch sauce. Oh wait, I didn’t use chocolate cookie dough. I used sugar cookie. Just to do things a little different. Her recipe is a lot like some of mine. You can customize it to your liking.

The combo

This beauty has an Oreo cookie crust. The filling is made from cookie dough, Reese’s peanut butter cups and pretzels.  Weird?  I think not!  And of course, as I mentioned, the topping is melted caramel and butterscotch sauce.

What combo would you use?

  • Spread the dough mixture in pie crust. **Be careful not to smash up the crust like I did. 🙂
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool for at least an hour.
  • After the pie has cooled, melt the caramel and water in a microwave safe bowl. Pour over pie to cover entire top. Put in fridge for 30 minutes for the caramel to set.

  • After the caramel has set. Drizzle butterscotch sauce/topping over pie as desired. Put back in fridge for 30 minutes to set and harden more. I think one of my problems was not letting it set the final time long enough.
