
Cheesy Sausage and Tater Tot Casserole
I had an idea! Sometimes that’s good and sometimes that’s bad. This time it worked out good! I came up with some food that I love and I threw it together. Cheesy Sausage and Tater Tot Casserole. Let me tell you…..great combo in my opinion.
I wasn’t sure if it would go together good enough. It was better, much better, than expected. I think all ages will love this. From kids to adults. And talk about easy to throw together. It only took me 10 minutes to assemble…then, threw it in the oven.
This is a great weeknight dish that doesn’t take long to make yet is still yummy to eat. I made it to serve four. 3 of us finished it off. We went back for seconds. Keep that in mind if you like to have more than enough food, just in case.
Pork or Turkey?
And for all you non-pork eaters out there. I used turkey sausage. Ahem…Megan. Are you wishing you had a fork and could grab a bite off the screen now?

Cheesy Sausage and Tater Tot Casserole
Equipment
- 8×8 baking dish or 8×8 cake pan
Ingredients
- 4 Cups Tater Tots, Frozen
- 1 Pkg (13 oz) Turkey Smoked Sausage, Link
- 1 Can (10 3/4 oz) Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup
- 1-2 Cups Shredded Cheese
- 1/2 Cup Onion, Chopped
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°.
- Using a 8×8 casserole dish, add 2 cups of the tater tots to the bottom of the pan. You can use more if you prefer.
- Slice the sausage, place on top of the tater tots.
- Chop the onions, place on top of the sausage. Do you see a trend going here?
- In a small bowl, mix the soup, milk, salt and pepper. Pour over onions. This will soak through.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of tater tots on top. Place in oven and bake 25-30 minutes. You want the top layer of tater tots crispy and the soup mixture starting to bubble.
- Remove from oven. Add shredded cheese. Place back in oven for 5 more minutes.
- Remove from oven. Allow to cool at least 10 minutes before serving.
I tried this already once and loved it…going to make it again tonight!
