Banana Dream Pie

Banana Dream Pie

I love bananas about as much as I do peanut butter. No, there’s no peanut butter in here, sorry, although there’s a thought. Maybe another time. But this time, I got an awesome banana cream dream pie inside an awesome graham cracker crust that has a hint of cinnamon…that’s right…cinnamon!

If you like Banana Pies as much as me…check out my Banana Pudding Pie. It has a peanut butter graham cracker crust.

Very little baking involved which means what…perfect for summer.  Who wants to heat the house up with the oven when it’s already struggling just to stay cool. Preheat, then 7 minutes…not much heating…just a little. A little refridgerator time and BAM! You got you one sweet Banana Dream Pie!

I used dream whip to make the filling. Ever heard of it?  Almost the same thing as cool whip, but it’s a dry mix.  You mix it with cold milk and vanilla to make whip.  But wait, let me start from the beginning so you get an idea of just how good this is.  Now, I may have said that before and I will say it again. Cuz, when I think it’s good, I’ll brag about it.

The crust…mmmm…the crust.  The crust has a hint of cinnamon which makes it a little “better” than the typical graham cracker crust. Then you have the filling which started with the base (dream whip) and then I added some vanilla and banana cream pudding mix.  Talk about easy yet yummy.  You know what they say, “Sometimes the easiest things are the best things”. This is one of those!

Well, enough of my rambling…bet you wanna know how to make this puppy.

Here are some other delish desserts…

Banana Dream Pie

Whipped Banana Cream in a graham cracker crust. Easy to make, only need the oven for the crust for 7 minutes. You can mix up the filling while the crust is baking.
Course Dessert
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 7 minutes
Total Time 4 hours 27 minutes
Calories

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Finely Ground Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 6 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 pkgs Dream Whip
  • 2 3/4 cups cold milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pkg Instant Vanilla Pudding
  • 1 pkg Instant Banana Cream Pudding
  • 1 medium Banana optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375○ Graham Cracker Crust – Mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter and the cinnamon. I mixed this by hand with a fork. Didn’t take long at all, and it didn’t kill my arms.
  • Press your mixture into a 8 or 9″ pie plate.
    Banana Dream Pie
  • Bake at 375○ for 7 minutes.
    Banana Dream Pie
  • Filling – Beat the 2 pkgs of Dream Whip with 1 cup of cold milk and the vanilla for about 6 minutes until you see the peaks start to form. It will take on the same texture as cool whip.
    Banana Dream Pie
  • Add in the 2 boxes of instant pudding mix. This is what I used. -Sugar Free Vanilla -Sugar Free Banana Cream
  • Add in the remaining milk. Beat on low till the pudding mix is blended in, then increase to high for about 2-3 minutes. Can you see I got a little messy?
  • Spoon the creaminess into the graham cracker crust.
    Banana Dream Pie
  • OPTIONAL: Slice up a medium size banana and top the pie with. NOTE: The bananas don’t last long, so if this is something that will be served shortly after it’s ready, put the bananas on now. If not, you can add bananas when served or with each piece. You’re choice.
  • Refrigerate for 4 hours before serving.

  16. Cinnamon is such a great idea. I’ve been known to throw it into so many recipes, including herbal chamomile tea and also Shawarma. Yet I haven’t yet put it in a Banana Cream–I mean dream–Pie.
