Chicken Fried Steak GRAVY
As promised, here is the recipe and tutorial for the gravy I made with the Chicken Fried Steak. Gravy comes easy for some people and hard for others. Hopefully, if it’s hard for you, I’ll be able to walk you through it well enough. Just make sure you read the entire instructions before starting it. That way you won’t have to stop and read it word for word while making it.
I made this gravy with the leftover grease/oil from the chicken fried steaks I made. Makes the flavor go hand in hand with the steaks. All you’ll need is flour, milk and seasoning of your choice.
You could make gravy this way with any leftover grease/oil. Like fried chicken or fried pork chops. Maybe you want some gravy for breakfast, use the left over grease from the bacon or the sausage. Sausage doesn’t always leave as much grease, usually I don’t have to drain any of the grease when I make sausage gravy.
Are you craving gravy right now like I am because I keep saying gravy, gravy gravy?
If you want a gravy not made with the grease, but still good enough to lather on top of the steaks, try my Country Peppered Gravy!

Ingredients
- 1/4 Cup Leftover Grease from cooking
- 2 Tbsp Flour Mix (Flour, seasoned salt, Pepper)
- 1 1/2 Cup Milk
Instructions
- Using the 10″ skillet and the leftover grease from whatever you fried, heat the grease (if not already heated) to medium high heat.

- Add the flour mix, constantly stirring to avoid clumping.

- Keep stirring the flour/grease mixture until it turns brown and it starts to “bubble”, slowly boil.

- Add 1 cup of milk and continue to stir until well blended. Allow to come to a slow boil. Add the 1/2 cup of milk until well blended and returns to a slow boil. Turn the heat down to low/simmer for about 5-10 minutes to thicken.
