Brown the ground beef on medium high heat, or until done. Drain.
Preheat oven to 350°
Add the hash browns, butter, salt & pepper, onions, sour cream, soup and 2 cups of the cheese in a bowl.
Mix well.
Add the browned ground beef to the potato/cheese mixture.
Mix well.
Separate the mixture into two frozen pie crusts.
Bake for 30 minutes or until done. You should hear and see some bubbling. Remove from the oven and place 1/2 cup of cheese on top of each pie. Place back in the oven for 5 minutes. Let cool for 10 or so minutes.
Notes
I froze the second pie for another time. We just thawed it out last night. I heated it up in the oven at 325° for about 20 minutes.
