Veggie Dip made with Essential Oils

We had an Essential Oil party at my house this weekend to teach some of our friends and family what to do with their Essential Oils. So, my daughter, Meg, and I made some snacks and drinks with Essential Oils. It was a HUGE hit. So even if you’re not looking to possibly get healthier using essential oils, you could still use this recipe for some yummy goodness.
Are you on the Essential Oil wagon yet? They have been becoming more popular by the day. We use Young Living Oils, but if you prefer another brand that works for you, then by all means, use it. If you haven’t gotten on the band wagon yet, you might want to do some research and see what they are all about.

We made this veggie dip for those who wanted something other than the Fruit Dip we made or wanted something else with it. Most of use got a good helping of our daily fruits and veggies with these dips alone, BUT with the added bonus of Essential Oils.
For the veggie dip we used Basil and Oregano Essential Oils. Along with the oils we used sour cream, mayo, green onions and cucumbers. The Basil and Oregano Oils are pretty strong and don’t require even a full drop. What you do in that case is dip a toothpick in the oil and then use the oil to stir the oils in. You could use both like us, or just one or the other. If that is the case, a full drop of one would be sufficient.
You could substitute the sour cream and mayo for the light version if you would like to cut back on the calories and fat.

Benefits
Basil can refresh the mind and restores mental alertness, and may also sharpen your sense of smell. Also useful for fatigued or aching muscles, rub a few drops onto tense areas for relief.
Oregano (Origanum vulgare) is one of the most powerful and versatile essential oils. It contains strong immune-enhancing and antioxidant properties and supports the respiratory system.

Thank you Bobbi. I’m definitely not a vegan, but I’d like to taste such dip 🙂 Also I’d like to advice you to try rosemary essential oil in your cooking. Besides its lovely taste it also give some health benefits, for instance helps with indigestion.
