Muddy Buddies is a fun recipe and can be completely customized. I’ve made two version, one blue and one pink. But feel free to use any cake mix to flavor these!!

Here is the blue version that I made.

Is it puppy chow or muddy buddies?

They are the same thing, and both have different ingredients and versions of them. So, you can customize them to whatever holiday, event you need them for. Make them by a specific color, or one of your favorite flavors like red velvet or the new rage…confetti.

What are muddy buddies made of?

A combination of Chex cereal coated with a melted mixture of chocolate chips, butter, peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Then you add powdered sugar. They are one of the most addicting snacks you’ll ever make. Because we like to change things up, we have been rewriting this recipe too. For example, I used cake mix in my recipe in lieu of powdered sugar. And, in this recipe, I do not use peanut butter like the traditional recipes call for.

Can muddy buddies be frozen?

Yes. You can freeze them. Use an airtight container. They will last about 3 months in the freezer. Let thaw at room temp before eating.
